Incognito
Lets a player move through enemy territory as an undercover civilian-like unit. While you look harmless, the enemy leaves you alone; the moment you do something suspicious, you are treated as a normal enemy again. A coloured message at the bottom of the screen tells you when you become UNDERCOVER or EXPOSED.
What exposes you
- Holding a weapon raised, or having a rifle, launcher or pistol on you when weapons are not tolerated.
- Throwing a grenade or other throwable.
- Firing from a vehicle. You stay exposed for a while after the last shot.
- Sitting in a vehicle that belongs to your own side.
- Wearing a uniform, vest, helmet or backpack that is not on the allowed list (or is on the banned list), and carrying a banned weapon.
- Optionally, standing too close to an enemy soldier.
- Sprinting can be allowed or count against you.
Keeping a low profile
- While undercover, your weapon is lowered or put on your back automatically when you change weapon, open or close your inventory, pick something up, or get in or out of a vehicle.
- You can allow holstered pistols, or weapons held lowered, without losing cover.
Settings
The mission maker (or you, in single player) can choose which side may use the system, turn it on or off, pick allowed or banned clothing, gear and weapons by list, set the proximity distance, and tune how often the checks run and how long the vehicle cooldown lasts. Settings are under Addon Options → TF999 Incognito. See settings_users.md for the full list. This addon has no keybinds.
