Weapons Attachment Main

The core of the weapon attachment features: laser and light devices that you switch with keys, and the ability to add or remove weapon parts such as rails and grenade launchers.

Laser and light devices (Illuminate The Night)

Rail devices such as the AN/PEQ-2, PEQ-15, PEQ-16 and DBAL-A2, Perst-3, LLM-01 and LLM Mk.3, GTL-21, LA-5, NGAL, M952V, Mawl, Mk23 and multifunction pistol lasers work as real devices.

  • Turn the device on and off, and step through its modes from visible light to infrared, with keys or the vanilla headlights key.
  • Open a picture of the device to click its own buttons (mode, power, beam width, flood or diffuse on IR illuminators).
  • You can see other players' lasers and lights, and the color of the laser overlay can be matched to your night vision (green, white or custom).
  • Built-in help entries explain each device and the controls.
  • Works with canting mods, and has an emergency reset if a light or laser gets stuck.

Adding and removing weapon parts

Use the ACE interaction menu on a weapon to attach or detach parts such as rails, rail kits, handguards and underbarrel grenade launchers (M203, M320, GP-25, GP-34, EGLM, AG36 and others). Each takes a few seconds, and you get a message on success or failure, for example if the part is not in your inventory. The ACE Arsenal item panel shows the components.

Settings

Under TF999 Attachment: use the base-game headlights key for devices, canting mod choice, simplified controls, generic interface, tooltip and overlay options, night vision color, and the draw distance for other people's lasers. Under EAF Weapon Components: enable or disable weapon modification, and how long attach and detach actions take.

Devices from other attachment packs are made to work with this in the Weapons Attachment Compatibility addon. See settings_users.md and keybinds_users.md.
